Dr Barry Young graduated in 1985 with B.D.S (Otago) from Dunedin, New Zealand. After working in Wellington Hospital for two years, he came to the Gold Coast and entered into a private practice located in Nerang in 1988. With a relaxed and professional approach, Dr Barry has overseen the growth to one the Gold Coast’s most established an reputable practices. Belonging to the ADAQ, the Gold Coast Study Club and attending regular professional education courses, he is consistently improving on all aspects of the professional practice. 

In Barry’s spare time, he enjoys and active lifestyle, competing and coaching competitive dragon boat racing. Other activities outside of work including cooking, going to the gym, running and cycling. Being the ‘older and experienced’ dentist of the practice, Dr Barry enjoys using his life experience to positively change the lives of both his patients and those he works with. His focus is treating the patient and not focusing on the mouth.

Dr Barry Young earned his dental degree from the University of Otago and brings over 40 years of experience to providing comprehensive general dentistry with a deeply human touch. He guides his practice by a simple rule: patients don’t care how much you know but how much you care.  For Dr Young, decades of exceptional clinical skill always go hand-in-hand with empathy, active listening, and a gentle approach.
